Allison D. Gaffen
Allison Gaffen focuses her practice in the areas of family law and estate planning. Ms. Gaffen's family law practice includes representing clients in divorce, custody, and support proceedings.
Allison D. Gaffen
obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College, where she
majored in Psychology and Political Science and minored in Family Studies. Ms. Gaffen received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she graduated cum laude. She was a topics editor on the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law. While at Pitt Law, Ms. Gaffen participated in the Murray S. Love Mock Trial Competition. She was also awarded the John P. Gismondi Civil Litigation Certificate from Pitt Law. At Pitt Law, Allison was a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Law Fraternity International.
During law school, Ms. Gaffen was a certified legal intern at Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services in Washington County. Ms. Gaffen also was a family law intern at Neighborhood Legal Services Association in Allegheny County.
Ms. Gaffen has been admitted to practice before the state courts in Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA). Ms. Gaffen volunteers with ACBA’s Attorneys Against Hunger to do food distribution events. She also volunteers with Neighborhood Legal Services' Protection From Abuse Program and represents victims of domestic violence at their PFA hearings. In addition, Ms. Gaffen also volunteers at Allegheny County’s Pro Se Assistance Program, and helps pro se litigants prepare motions that will be presented at family court. |
